Robert Latham Brown is a film producer, line producer, production manager, author, and adjunct professor at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. He has worked on films ranging in budget from $1.6 million to $100 million and he worked with such names as George Lucas, Paul Verhoeven, Steven Spielberg, and others. Some of his credits include The Blues Brothers (1980), The Thing (1982), Return of the Jedi (1983), Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), and others.

The “Mr. On-Budget” sobriquet was something Mel Brooks “invented” when Brown asked him for a blurb to paste on the cover of his book, “Planning the Low-Budget Film.”
